Privacy policy
Last updated: October 5, 2026 · Applies to the JSync app for iOS, iPadOS, Android and Android TV.
In short
JSync collects no data. It has no servers, no accounts of its own, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. It is a player that connects only to the Jellyfin server you choose.
What the app handles, and where it stays
- Server address, username and access token of your Jellyfin server: stored only on your device (the token in the system keychain / keystore). Your password is sent only to your Jellyfin server to sign in and is not stored.
- Watch progress, favorites, groups (SyncPlay): saved on your Jellyfin server, which is run by you or by whoever invited you — not by us.
- App settings (language, playback preferences): stored only on your device.
Permissions
- Camera: only to scan the QR code of a group invite, when you open the scanner. No images are saved or sent.
- Local network: to reach a Jellyfin server on your home network, and to find AirPlay / Chromecast devices if you use them.
Invite links
An invite link looks like https://thecomputer07.github.io/jsync/j/#…. Everything after the # (server address and group id) is never sent to any server by your browser: the page, hosted on GitHub Pages, only passes it to the app on your device. GitHub may keep standard technical logs (such as IP address) for the page request itself, under GitHub’s privacy statement.
Third parties
The app does not include third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. Casting uses Apple AirPlay or Google Cast only when you start it, and sends the video address to the device you pick.
Children
The app does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children.

Informativa privacy
Ultimo aggiornamento: 5 ottobre 2026 · Vale per l’app JSync per iOS, iPadOS, Android e Android TV.
In breve
Cosa tratta l’app e dove resta
